2017-03-22 A Time For New Beginnings...again!

We had a wonderful day with 10 new missionaries today.  They all stayed awake and participated well despite not getting all the sleep they needed the night before at the MTC. They will be a great group!  We are especially grateful for a fantastic group of trainers!!!

Assistants demonstrating how to OYM (Elder BillariƱa is a man feeding his carabao).

Sister Porteous training the missionaries about their apartments.

Elder Porteous explains things to new missionaries...and keeps things lively with his humor.

New missionaries at the American War Memorial where the Philippines was dedicated for the preaching of the gospel by Elder Gordon B. Hinckley.

Here they are just finding out where they will serve and who will be their companion.

Elder Zesiger's new apo (grandson)...the missionary he trained will train Elder Gilette on Palawan.

The two elders without companions will be serving on Palawan.

Sister Latu will be serving in Coron on Busuanga.

2017-03-21 Time For Farewells

Sister Ostler's sister, Arlene Treuhaft and her husband, Loyd, came to visit and work with the missionaries.  Loyd served his mission years ago in Mindinao.  Arlene served in France.  They are looking forward to the day they can serve a senior mission together.  They are preparing to serve full-time as soon as they can retire.  They were able to teach with the missionaries and serve in different areas.  It was such a blessing to spend time with them.

What a joy it is to spend a day in the temple with wonderful missionaries preparing to return home.

It was also wonderful to have Sister Coombs bring her mom back to visit the mission.

Families are forever!

Final Advice and Instructions from President Ostler

What a wonderful group of missionaries.  We are grateful and humbled to have watched them sacrifice and grow as they have consecrated their lives in the service of their Savior.

We are blessed with the best Senior Missionaries in the world!

How we love our assistants!  We will miss you, Elder Zeyer!
