Today we said goodbye to all our family in the parking lot across the street from the MTC in Provo. As we drove away, they started singing, "Called to Serve." Wow! They know how to make a mom cry! :)
We drove across the street and have been "in Heaven" ever since. It seems like every 15 feet there has been a friendly, helpful missionary standing there ready to tell us where to go next or to answer any questions we might have. It is like being in the temple, except there are missionaries to help you even in the parking lot, holding the doors open for you, giving you drinks, snacks, helping you with luggage, etc. They truly know how to treat us like royalty. There was even a small box of chocolates in our hotel room when we checked in on Saturday night! Everyone is so helpful and kind. It really does feel like Heaven. The trees, flowers and decorations...and FOOD....are so beautiful and nice. I told President Ostler that it must be like this in Heaven!
I have pictures of each of our children pointing to their mission in front of this map. Even though I've ALWAYS wanted to go on a mission, I never imagined myself there!!!! What an amazing feeling to be standing there with President Ostler....the best companion ever! Putting a badge on was a really powerful feeling too. That's when I felt like this mission is REAL!
