It's been a wonderful day in Manila! Despite a typhoon north of us, we got to see Sister Abby Giles, a dear neighbor and friend of ours from Mesa. She is in the MTC ready to go to San Pablo on Wednesday. What a joy it was to see such a special girl, who is so well-prepared to serve. It is no easy thing to leave your family, a comfortable life and security to serve in a foreign land with people you don't know, with a culture you don't understand and food that is unfamiliar to you. We are so grateful for every missionary who comes here to serve. It is a sacrifice in many ways for all of them, but at the same time, it is an immeasurable blessing!!! It is such a gift to be here!
Tonight, we had a wonderful family visit from Busuanga for interviews. The Co family joined the church about a year ago and are preparing to go to the temple and be sealed together. What a wonderful spirit they radiate!
Then, later tonight we got to go to the airport to pick up the Mortimers, our newest senior couple. We have been praying for a senior couple and are sooooo thrilled to have them!
They are filled with positive energy and enthusiasm despite a long trip from the US. We are so thankful for every senior couple who come to serve! Missionaries LOVE them so much!
